Since 1999, we have been developing reliable IT and cloud solutions for businesses – ranging from our own data centre infrastructure, through managed services and cloud platforms, to scalable storage, GPU and Kubernetes environments.
centron has received an unrestricted BSI C5:2020 Type 1 certificate for ccloud³ and Managed Server. The independent audit, conducted in accordance with ISAE 3000, confirms the design and implementation of the internal control system at the time of the audit.
With ccloud³, we have consistently refined the classic ccloud: improved performance, a completely revamped interface and a wide range of user-friendly tools.
Launch of the Powerlance GPU servers, making it one of the first data centres in Germany to do so. In addition, centron opens a server site in Switzerland, becomes an IHK pre-qualified company and is awarded the ISO 27001 certificate in accordance with the BSI’s IT-Grundschutz standard.
The Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Energy has certified centron in the field of managed services under the IaaS service model.
Connection to DE-CIX, the world’s largest internet exchange, for greater availability and faster response times. Centron is also the first IT company in the Bamberg region to be awarded the CrefoZert credit rating certificate from Creditreform.
Since then, system infrastructures have been distributed across three locations throughout Germany – ensuring the highest levels of reliability and data security.
In February 2014, the new data centre and company headquarters were opened; from August onwards, all servers were running in the new data centre. ISO 27001 was added to the existing ISO 9001 and ISO 14001 certifications.
Continuous reduction in energy consumption and optimisation of the carbon footprint through research into and the use of new cooling and energy-generation technologies.
The centron Cloud (ccloud) is being launched and is rapidly gaining acceptance amongst corporate customers who prioritise German data protection standards.
centron is certified to DIN ISO 9001:2008 (quality management) and DIN EN ISO 14001 (environmental management).
Commissioning of the first high-performance data centre in leased premises. In the same year, centron became a member of the eco – Association of the German Internet Industry e. V.
As a member of RIPE-NCC, centron is authorised to register and manage its own IP address ranges.
centron has become a member of DENIC and an official registrar with nic.at – and is one of the first providers of managed Windows servers in Germany.
centron is one of the first internet service providers to offer ASP.NET web hosting packages and is establishing itself as a partner in the Microsoft software ecosystem.
Monika Safferling and Wilhelm Seucan set up centron as a two-man business in a garage – with the vision of serving the hosting market with the best service and support.
