Providers often advertise low prices per gigabyte but charge for outgoing traffic separately. With data-intensive applications, that charge can quickly exceed the cost of storage many times over – which is why the gigabyte price is not what decides it, but the total bill. centron does not charge for outgoing traffic at all.
1,000 GB × €0.02 = €20 per month. If the archive is restored in full once a month, centron charges no additional costs.
For comparison: IONOS charges €0.007/GB for storage and Hetzner €6.49 per terabyte – in both cases plus outgoing traffic. For a full monthly restore of 1 TB, that charge is added there; at centron it is not.
