Industries & Sectors – Cloud for those responsible for patient data

Healthcare: Cloud for the most sensitive data

Medical practices, clinics, medtech companies and health apps need more than just availability: they need demonstrable security for the most sensitive data of all.

Why centron

Infrastructure with a quality mark

Health data, as defined in Article 9 of the GDPR, requires special protective measures – in this case, proof of compliance forms part of the product.

The C5 certificate as a foundation

The BSI-C5 criteria catalogue is the benchmark for cloud computing in the healthcare sector – centron meets these criteria with an unrestricted Type 1 certificate for ccloud³ / Managed Cloud.

Data remains in Germany

No transfers to third countries, standard contractual clauses under Article 28 of the GDPR and documented technical and organisational measures – the complete package for your data protection impact assessment.

Protection against ransomware

Healthcare facilities are particularly vulnerable to attacks: cProtect replicates data every 15 minutes and switches over in seconds in the event of an emergency.

Operated by experts

Managed services keep systems patched and monitored – which is important where IT teams are small and demands are high.

From practice software to a health app

For utility companies and developers alike

Organisations run practice and clinic software on managed servers with backup and monitoring; medtech and app providers build scalable platforms on Kubernetes – both with the same compliance foundation. The Trust Centre provides audit documentation.

Frequently Asked Questions

Can patient data be stored in the centron Cloud?

The framework conditions are in place: processing takes place exclusively in Germany; a data processing agreement (DPA) in accordance with Article 28 of the GDPR with documented technical and organisational measures (TOMs); and an unrestricted BSI C5:2020 Type 1 certificate. Your data protection officer will assess the specific admissibility – we will provide all the necessary documentation.

How much does it cost to get started?

The starting prices are deliberately low: Managed Servers from €53.12 per month, cProtect from €0.03 per month and Kubernetes from €29.99 per month. New accounts receive a €200 starting credit valid for 60 days – you can calculate the cost of your specific configuration transparently using the price calculator.

Can this be implemented in a way that complies with the GDPR?

Yes – however, the strictest requirements apply here: patient data constitutes special categories of data under Article 9 of the GDPR, and this is compounded by the doctor’s duty of confidentiality under Section 203 of the German Criminal Code (StGB). At centron, this data is processed exclusively in Germany, under a data processing agreement in accordance with Article 28 of the GDPR and with documented access authorisations. Operations take place in certified to ISO 27001 on the basis of IT-Grundschutz data centres; for ccloud³ / Managed Cloud, there is an unrestricted BSI C5:2020 Type 1 certificate. Details can be found in the Trust Centre.
