Rent a Windows server: managed or self-managed
You rent Windows servers from us for your file storage, your industry software or your database, operated in our own data centre in Hallstadt near Bamberg, Germany. You decide who takes care of them: with Premium Full Managing, we handle updates, security patches, monitoring and backup. Or you manage the server yourself. In both cases, you pay for the Windows licence monthly.

Both options run on the same platform, our ccloud³. The difference is who operates the server.

What you can rent a Windows server for
File and sign-in server
Central file storage and domain sign-in for your office, instead of your own server on site.
Application server for industry software
For ERP, accounting or practice management software, with SQL Server on request. We check in advance whether the vendor supports operation in a data centre.
Terminal server

Complete desktops

How much does a Windows server cost per month?
You pay for the computing power and storage your server needs, plus operations and the Windows licence. All components are listed openly in our price lists.

With a quota, you commit to a fixed amount of computing power and storage for 12, 24 or 36 months and get a discount of 10, 20 or 30 % on it. The application server then costs €140.20, €134.29 or €128.37 per month. If you manage it yourself, there is no operations fee: the same server then costs €96.12 per month. Net, plus VAT, as of October 2026. Backup storage is added based on usage (€0.03687 per GB per month; for example, 100 GB costs €3.69). SQL Server and Microsoft Office are available on request. Setup and migration are not included in the monthly price; we list them separately in the quote.
Which licences you need
You do not buy licences. You obtain them through us and pay for them monthly:
- Windows Server is licensed per 2 cores. A server with 8 vCPU therefore needs 4 licences. They are included in the server price. The same price applies to a self-managed Cloud Server, where the licence is charged automatically.
- SQL Server requires its own usage rights, depending on edition and usage. We will state the edition and price in your quote.
- Remote Desktop: if several people work directly on the server, each of them needs their own licence. We show the calculation under Rent a terminal server.
Moving to a new Windows Server version is a project of its own. We plan the migration with you and list it separately in the quote.
From your own server to our data centre

1. Assessment
We look at your servers, applications, databases and interfaces, and check whether the vendor of your software supports operation in a data centre. We also agree which tasks remain with your team or IT service provider.
2. Setup and testing
We set up the new server. You test typical workflows with real data.
3. Switchover
The date, possible interruptions and a fallback plan are agreed in advance.
4. Operations
After acceptance, we take over the agreed operations. You have a personal contact.
