The firewall operates on a rule-based system in front of the virtual machine, ensuring that unwanted traffic never reaches the system in the first place. It is operated in certified to ISO 27001 on the basis of IT-Grundschutz data centres in Germany with an unrestricted BSI C5:2020 Type 1 certificate.
