Fundamentals of Android ConstraintLayout

Android ConstraintLayout allows defining layouts by specifying relative constraints for each child view/widget to other views. Compared to RelativeLayout, ConstraintLayout offers more flexibility and performance, aiming to improve application performance by replacing nested views with a flat and flexible design.

A view within ConstraintLayout has anchor points on each side used to assign constraints. The anchor points include:

  • Resize Handle: For resizing the view while maintaining its constraints.
