And those who wish to hand over operations should opt for the Managed Server – the hardware infrastructure in German certified to ISO 27001 on the basis of IT-Grundschutz data centres is always the same.
vServer, VPS and Virtual Dedicated Server essentially refer to the same technology: a virtual server with its own operating system and root access. The main difference between these terms lies in the level of resource commitment – with a traditional VPS, several instances share the hardware, whilst with a Virtual Dedicated Server, the CPU and RAM are firmly reserved. A cloud VM takes this a step further: it can be scaled up whilst in operation and is billed by the hour rather than as part of a monthly package. At centron, the ccloud³ VM, starting at €3.12 per month, corresponds to this cloud variant, available in either the Worker, Power or High-Availability pool. It is operated in the company’s own German data centres, which are certified to ISO 27001 on the basis of IT-Grundschutz.
