Centron is not just a Managed Service Provider but also a data center operator since 2008. The advantage: we have tailored the equipment and setup of the data center entirely to meet your needs. centron is known for personal support backed by extensive technical expertise. For our Managed Server customers, we are available around the clock to reliably support the stable operation of business-critical IT systems. We are also happy to advise you on planning cloud architectures and integrating existing IT environments.

2026
BSI C5:2020 Typ 1 attestation for ccloud³ / Managed Cloud
centron receives an unlimited BSI C5:2020 Type 1 attestation for ccloud³ and Managed Server. The independent audit in accordance with ISAE 3000 confirms the design and implementation of the service-related internal control system as of the audit date. This makes cloud security at centron even more transparent.
2020
centron expands its portfolio with GPU servers
To keep pace with digital progress and increasingly complex workloads, we launched our Powerlance GPU servers in 2020. With Powerlance, centron became one of the first data centers in Germany to offer high-performance GPU servers on a rental basis.

centron becomes an IHK-prequalified company and receives BSI IT-Grundschutz certification
Following various assessments and audits, centron received this highly regarded status. This certification makes it easier for public-sector clients in particular to preselect suitable companies. In addition to the existing ISO 27001 certification, centron now also receives ISO 27001 certification based on BSI IT-Grundschutz.
2017
Connection to major internet exchange points and CrefoZert
From July 2017, we further expanded our network and connected to DE-CIX, one of the world’s largest internet exchanges. This significantly improved our internet connectivity once again and enabled us to offer greater availability and flexibility through shorter routes and faster response times. As the first IT company based in the Bamberg region, centron also received the new CrefoZert creditworthiness certificate from Creditreform in 2017 and has since received it multiple times. With this certification, Creditreform confirms our solid creditworthiness, which is an important factor for successful long-term partnerships.
2015
Positive workforce development
In June 2015, our 50th apprentice successfully completed their training – an important milestone in our company history. Today, our primary focus is on the continuous development of our team. We promote professional growth, personal responsibility and collaboration so that our employees can grow together with centron while working on modern IT and cloud solutions.
2012
Use of new cooling and energy generation technologies
Environmental responsibility is one of our most important corporate priorities. We have set ourselves the goal of continuously reducing energy consumption and optimizing our CO₂ footprint by researching and implementing new cooling and energy generation technologies.
2009
DIN ISO 9001:2008 & DIN EN ISO 14001
Quality and sustainability have always played an important role throughout centron’s company history. In 2009, centron was certified according to DIN ISO 9001:2008 (quality management) and DIN EN ISO 14001 (environmental management).
2007
Microsoft Gold Certified Partner & RIPE NCC member
Our employees continuously develop their skills – and in 2007, these efforts were rewarded with Microsoft Gold Certified Partner status. Also in 2007, centron became a RIPE NCC member. This authorizes us to register and manage our own IP address ranges.
2003
Member of DENIC & registrar with nic.at
centron became a member of DENIC and an official registrar with nic.at in 2003. We have been registering .ch domains via SWITCH since 1999 and .eu domains via EURid since 2006. Legal and technical training provided by these organizations ensures a smooth domain registration process for our customers.
1999
Company Foundation
In 1999, Monika Safferling and Wilhelm Seucan founded centron as a small two-person company in a garage. Their vision of providing the hosting market with the best possible service and support gave the founders the perseverance they needed to successfully navigate the company’s early years.
2022
Further development of ccloud³
With ccloud³, we have consistently advanced our previous cloud solution, the classic ccloud. This allows us to offer our customers even more performance, an intuitive, completely redesigned interface and a broad portfolio of powerful convenience tools.
2020
centron opens a location in Switzerland
With its new server location in Zurich, centron adds new capacity to its existing data centers in Nuremberg, Coburg, Frankfurt am Main and Hallstadt. The new location provides us with the foundation to offer customers and partners even more innovative solutions. At the same time, expanding our data center network lays the foundation for further growth in the future.
2018
Successfully certified as Trusted Cloud for the first time
For the first time in centron’s history, the German Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Energy certifies centron in the Managed Services sector with the IaaS (Infrastructure as a Service) service model.
2016
Expansion of our geo-redundant locations
In 2016, we were able to further expand our geo-redundancy and now offer our customers the highest levels of reliability and data security. System environments can now be distributed across three different locations throughout Germany, making data loss virtually impossible.
2014
Opening of our data center and company headquarters
In February 2014, centron’s new data center and company headquarters were opened. Regular operations began in April, and by August all servers had been moved to the new data center. In 2014, we also underwent another certification process, subjecting our high quality standards to a detailed assessment. The recognized ISO 27001 certification was added to our existing ISO 9001 and ISO 14001 certifications.
2011
Our own cloud hosted in Germany
In 2011, we offered our own cloud hosted in Germany for the first time: the centron Cloud, ccloud³, gained increasing acceptance among business customers in Germany who rely on the data protection we provide.
2008
Our own high-performance data center in Nuremberg
In 2008, we put our first own high-performance data center in Nuremberg into operation. This laid the foundation for responding even more precisely to individual customer requirements using the latest technology and the highest security standards. In the same year, we became a member of eco – Association of the Internet Industry.
2003
One of the first providers of Managed Windows Servers
A milestone in our company history: in 2003, centron became one of the first providers of Managed Windows Servers, pioneering the service in Germany and offering customers the highest possible level of support.
2002
Pioneer in ASP.NET web hosting
As one of the first Internet Service Providers, centron offered ASP.NET web hosting packages and quickly established itself as a partner for developers and users in the Microsoft software ecosystem.
